If you or someone you know struggles with clutter, consider attending the program
“Empower Me to Be Clutter-Free” offered by the Kosciusko Purdue Extension at the North Webster
Community Public Library.  Participants will learn de-cluttering strategies, discuss emotional barriers to letting go of “stuff”, and find storage solutions to help solve clutter problems. Sessions will be held at 10:30 am on Mondays,  January 6, 13, 20  and 27. Please register in advance for this free class by calling the library.

How to Help Scientists Count Local Birds

The North Webster Community Public Library Citizen Science Club invites the community to join them for this year's Great Backyard Bird Count.
This program will introduce attendees to the Great Backyard Bird Count, a worldwide effort to document bird species in their native habitats. Hosted by the National Audubon Society, the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, and Birds of Canada, this annual event invites everyday individuals to become "citizen scientists" by choosing one of the designated dates, counting birds, and submitting their totals. This year's Great Backyard Bird Count is set for Feb. 14-17. If you would like to join NWCPL's Great Backyard Bird Count team, sign up for this informational session.

This will be a time for one-on-one discussion, sharing tips, building your tree, and tackling brick walls. Attendees will also learn about the Genealogical Proof Standard and how they can apply it to trace their ancestors accurately. This program will take place the first Wednesday of every month from 10 a.m. to noon.

Participants can count birds from a location of their choosing, then submit their totals to the NWCPL Citizen Science eBird account.
