The North Webster Community Public Library Citizen Science Club invites the community to join them for this year's Great Backyard Bird Count.
This program will introduce attendees to the Great Backyard Bird Count, a worldwide effort to document bird species in their native habitats. Hosted by the National Audubon Society, the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, and Birds of Canada, this annual event invites everyday individuals to become "citizen scientists" by choosing one of the designated dates, counting birds, and submitting their totals. This year's Great Backyard Bird Count is set for Feb. 14-17. If you would like to join NWCPL's Great Backyard Bird Count team, sign up for this informational session.
Genealogists and those interested in learning genealogy are invited to check out Roots and Branches. This will be a time for one-on-one discussion, sharing tips, building your tree, and tackling brick walls. Attendees will also learn about the Genealogical Proof Standard and how they can apply it to trace their ancestors accurately. This program will take place the first Wednesday of every month from 10 a.m. to noon.
